Mental Breakdown | State Of Insanity

This post is also available in: English Français (French)

Can we define Insanity? Well, State of insanity is one of those things that most psychological texts try to categorize, illustrate and analyze, but never define. Indeed, from a certain point of view, madness and mental health are too relative to the individual and his or her situation to be given a single, comprehensive definition. There are, however, several factors to note among the different “forms” of madness known to modern mental health experts. That’s why in this article we’ll have a look at what causes mental breakdown & the importance of mental health.

State Of Insanity

What do you think could drive someone to the state of insanity? Certainly, madness is something that is commonly understood (or misunderstood depending with who you talk) and that generally carries some kind of stigma in popular consciousness. If you believe in modern psychology and psychiatry, there are literally thousands of forms of madness that a person can develop in their lifetime.

However, after further analysis, there is every indication that there are commonalities in the causes of most forms of insanity experienced by people. This leads us to the question: is there a common and profound trigger that can compromise the stability of individuals mental health?

What Causes Mental Breakdown

Stress and anxiety are frequently cited as the most common triggers for many illnesses. The same is true for the majority of mental health problems, which are usually caused by one of these two most harmful factors to humans. Frequent exposure to stress doses can lead a person beyond their “breaking point”. Thereafter, the insanity and the type of madness that follows will be influenced by external circumstances.

The State Of Mental Health In America

Emotionality is also said to play a crucial role in driving people crazy. Emotions are very closely linked to mental well-being. A person’s emotional health may reflect their state of mental stability. However, it could also become a fragmented mental health problem. There is no longer the slightest doubt that emotions can upset and disrupt a person’s intellectual faculties and make him commit things that he would not normally do.

For the majority of North American people, a mental breakdown is a process that is usually laborious and takes a long time to manifest itself, as the vast majority of individuals have some kind of resistance to this type of situation, which at least allows them to overcome the stressful and difficult period of their fast pace North American lives while maintaining healthy mental health. This is why, it could be that for some, the accumulation of stress does not lead at all to madness, since the largest part of the society constitutes the proof of this theory, because nowadays in America we have to deal with stress practically on a daily basis.

Nevertheless, it is important to mention that long-term stress can have a significant impact on a person’s neurological functioning and behaviors. Of course, it’s also true that many other factors can play a more or less important role in increasing or decreasing the impact on people’s minds and mental health. In a few cases, however, stress and anxiety can sometimes simply have the opposite effect, motivating the person to surpass themselves. But all this will obviously depend on everyone’s point of view.

Emotional Meltdown

It has also been observed that extremely emotional events and profound emotional trauma can have a permanent impact on an individual’s mind. To such an extent that he may eventually need therapeutic follow-up to overcome them. Indeed, it can easily be argued that the harmful emotions we maintain only reinforce the impacts of the stress and pressure we have to endure on a daily basis, but that they are not a factor in themselves.

Dealing Emotional Trauma

If we ever have to experience a trauma, (which can happen to everyone, whether an accident, a misfortune, a death, etc…) You should know that they are often mentioned as being closely linked to the dramatic effects on a person’s psychological health. The severe psychological and emotional consequences that trauma victims can endure sometimes force some of them to cross the point of no return, which usually has persistent effects on their mental health.

It should be noted that trauma is really just a combination of stressful and emotional factors, usually combined with unpredictable or exceptional events. The fragility of a person’s mind will play a major role here in comparison with other possible causes of dementia. Similarly, it will be important to consider when the individual suffered the trauma. Since, if it occurred late in his life it would perhaps not have the same general effect as if the same events occurred during his childhood.

Don’t Judge People!

Finally, before passing judgment on anyone, know that madness is a phenomenon that, like mental health, is defined on an individual and personal basis. In my view, it is crucial to understand that what is sane for a person in any community, can instead be considered madness in another community or even in the same society.

WHAT CAUSES MENTAL BREAKDOWN THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTHThat is why I sincerely believe that madness is a matter of context and individual perception. Each case must be well analyzed and understood before undertaking anything. To overcome any psychological disorder it will first be necessary to identify its source. Each effect has its causes and to regain your mental health it will be essential to talk with a neutral person who will listen to you and take the time for you.
